Recently I’ve been working with Competing Through Knowledge. What’s that?
Competing Through Knowledge is an effort driven by business leaders to make South Carolina’s working citizens ready for the emerging economy and the state more globally competitive by 2030. It will work with higher education to assess how South Carolina, at the two-year and four-year levels, is preparing its workforce for the future. From that, it will recommend specific on-the-ground changes in how South Carolinians are being educated.
These are expected to be practical moves that will pay off for South Carolina by creating a better-prepared workforce.
Competing Through Knowledge just rolled out its study, produced at USC, about the expected future of the S.C. workforce. Learn more about it at the organization’s webpage: http://www.competingthroughknowledge.org/
Also, Andy Shain of The State did a first-rate story on the effort.
